Reservoir Media has confirmed its acquisition of the catalog of multi-Platinum, Grammy-nominated hip-hop producer, and artist Byron Thomas, professionally known as Mannie Fresh. The deal includes both publishing and recorded music rights.

Primary Wave Music has struck a music rights deal with singer and songwriter Russ Ballard. The transaction sees the publisher acquire a stake in Ballard’s music publishing catalog and writer’s share royalties, as well as his writer’s share of public performance.

Reservoir Media has acquired both the publishing and recorded music rights of saxophonist and jazz icon Sonny Rollins. Born in New York in 1930, Rollins is widely regarded as one of the most influential jazz musicians of all time and earned the monikers ‘The Saxophone Colossus’ and ‘The Greatest Living Improviser’.

Influence Media has acquired the publisher’s share of a big chunk of the song catalog of Harry Styles collaborator Tyler Johnson. The deal covers 67 songs Johnson wrote for Styles, Meghan Trainor, Sam Smith, and more between 2012 and 2020.

Primary Wave has announced its acquisition of Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek‘s rights as it pertains to their involvement with The Doors. The deal includes the guitarist and late keyboardists’ recorded music, publishing, trademarks and merchandise rights and income.

BMG has bought the rights to the catalog of Grammy award-winning, multi-Platinum-selling singer-songwriter Peter Frampton. The agreement spans his entire musical career from his late-60s work with UK hitmakers The Herd, to 70s supergroup Humble Pie, through gaining superstar status as a solo artist with hit songs including Show Me The Way, Baby, I Love Your Way, Do You Feel Like We Do, I’m In You, and I Can’t Stand It No More, among many others.
