Renowned Music Firm Alter, Kendrick & Baron, LLP Welcomes Julia Ambros

NEW YORK CITY, NY – January 13, 2025 Alter, Kendrick & Baron, LLP (“AKB”) is pleased to announce that Julia Ambros has joined the firm as an Associate. Julia brings a breadth of experience in music transactions, including the acquisition and sale of composition and recording catalogs, to the firm.

Before joining AKB, Julia began her legal career at Clifford Chance, where she practiced in the firm’s corporate department. She later joined ArentFox Schiff as a music transactions and copyright associate, honing her skills in music catalog sales and copyright terminations.

At AKB, Julia joins a collective advising on major music acquisition deals involving catalogs such as those of Rod Stewart, Stevie Nicks, Enrique Iglesias, James Brown, Future, Bob Marley, Peter Frampton, and Whitney Houston at a firm that negotiated and closed over $1 billion in deals during the past eighteen months.

Julia received her J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2020, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. While in law school, Julia was a student editor for the Columbia Law School Journal of Law & the Arts, worked at the law school’s Kernochan Center for Law, Media & the Arts, and interned at Sony Music Entertainment. She graduated summa cum laude from New York University with a B.A. in philosophy in 2017.
