Joyce Sydnee Dollinger works collaboratively with her clients to ensure that their intellectual property rights and media assets are properly protected and monetized. She brings with her to Alter, Kendrick & Baron, LLP over twenty years of experience advising artists, music producers, musical estates and artist managers as well as companies ranging from start-ups to entertainment conglomerates on all aspects of their businesses. Her services run the gamut from assisting clients in the formation and maintenance of corporate entities related to their careers in the entertainment industry to counseling clients on copyright and licensing matters and advising in connection with touring, merchandising and issues relating to emerging technologies. Before entering private practice, Ms. Dollinger enjoyed a successful career working in-house in the legal and business affairs departments at several prominent music companies, including both major and independent record labels and music publishing companies.

Ms. Dollinger is an active member of the bar and has taken on leadership roles at several industry trade organizations, such as the Association of Independent Music Publishers and the New York State Bar Association Entertainment and Sports Law Section. In addition, with a passion for combining music, environmentalism and philanthropy, she is counsel to Wear Your Music, a company that enlists artists to donate their used guitar strings to be repurposed and sold as bracelets, with a portion of the proceeds from each sale going towards a charity of the musicians’ choice. Ms. Dollinger is well regarded among colleagues and clients alike for her creative problem solving skills, strong ethics and generous spirit.
