Tamika Gorski is a Foundations Communications & Special Projects Manager at Alter, Kendrick & Baron, LLP (AKB) with a strong background in nonprofit communications and contemporary concert music. Tamika began her career as a Rental Librarian at European American Music Distributor's Company, where she developed expertise in music distribution and rights management before initially joining the foundations staff at AKB as Acting Grants Manager in 2018. She previously served as a board member and marketing committee chair for the Chelsea Symphony, where she played a key role in enhancing the organization’s visibility and outreach, and currently serves on the board of The Rhythm Method, a contemporary, feminist string quartet of composer-performers.
An active percussionist, Tamika is passionate about contemporary music and can be heard performing in orchestral halls and chamber music settings around New York City and the surrounding area. She is currently the percussionist for the Curiosity Cabinet, a new music ensemble founded by composer Whitney George. Tamika holds a Bachelor of Music in percussion performance from the University of Hartford and a Master of Music in contemporary percussion performance from the Manhattan School of Music.
